A brand new monthly nature connection podcast, guiding you in awakening your senses and making connections with the nature that surrounds us.
This week I’ve launched Edge of the Hedge; a brand new, independent, nature connection podcast. It’s written, hosted edited and produced by myself. With each episode, I’ll guide you in rekindling and nurturing your connection with nature, through field recordings, rich narration, sensory exploration and contemplation. It takes you on an gentle, peaceful audio journey, walking the landscape with me, tracking the seasons and changing landscapes throughout the year. Think of it, as an audio almanac, encouraging you to slow your pace, and see the natural world at your feet, with new eyes.
The idea came about, when sitting on a favourtie bench along the Viking Way in Lincolnshire, in a gap between two hawthorn hedgerows, in the early summer of 2020.In Episode 1 – Linden trees in Midsummer, I take a walk through the fields, listening to skylarks, watch the swallows swooping over the barley fields. Then I take a trip to reconnect with a favourite tree – the Linden tree, otherwise known as the Lime tree or Tilia.
You can subscribe and listen to Edge of the Hedge, wherever you get your podcasts on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, Stitcher, Google Podcasts and more. If you enjoy, it would be great if you could leave me a rating and / or review. It’s also available to listen to on my Edge of the Hedge podcast web page.
If you want to find out more about the Linden tree, you can watch a recording of my talk for the Urban Tree Festival called “The Tranquility of Tilia” – where I introduce you to the Linden tree in history, and it’s role with human health. You can watch it right below here, or over on YouTube :
