What happens during an online appointment?
When you book an online appointment, for which I use Zoom, as a stable, safe online platform, I send you an appointment link in advance, via email, and you simply click on the link to join the appointment.
At the start, I’ll frame what we’ll be doing during our time together, and also offer you the opportunity of asking any initial questions you have. Do have a glass of water, or cup of tea to hand, to help talking feel easier.
We then settle into having an in-depth and relaxed discussion about your current health needs, and how you are feeling in yourself at the moment, as well as working our way through your whole health history, from childhood, to present day. In addition, we’ll talk about your family health history, and any medication or health supplements you may be taking, which I’ll need to take into account when making your herbal medicine prescription. We’ll also sometimes talk about what you eat and drink, as sometimes the tiniest adjustment can make a big difference.
If you have a home blood pressure machine, and are also able to take your wrist pulse (either with your fingers, or via a device like a FitBit or via a pulse oximeter, or phone app, this can also add to your therapeutic picture, and give me a better idea of how to help you. It’s not always necessary, but it’s great if you’re able to do this.
Towards the end of the appointment, we discuss and agree what you’d like to achieve from taking the herbal medicine I’ll be making for you, as well as booking in your next appointment, to ensure we can continue to keep your heath moving in the right direction.
